Ashton Bradford: Phenomology of Prayer 1

In my reading of this book, I discovered a section that has to do with collective prayer. In my religion, collective prayer is a very important method by which to communicate with God and strengthen your relationship. While we cannot do this currently, it was always a big part of religion. In many people pray in tangent to strengthen the prayer and to lift eachother up. It is fascinating how that idea is incorporated in so many religions, but why? And what is the difference between that and regular, singular prayer?

Group prayer, like stated before, is viewed as more powerful. Each person lifts another up to pray in tangent, creating a group vibe. This group vibe also allows people to see better ways to pray by looking at others that are providing examples. Singular prayer is a very common method of prayer, as that is the most efficient and easy to pick up way of prayer. The book expresses group prayer as more important, which makes sense, as it is the most productive to making spiritual connections.
