Kaile Judge - Outside Reading Post 3 - Live Fearless by Sadie Robertson
Live Fearless
Sadie Robertson is a well-known Christian woman, that is a preacher, motivational speaker, and first appeared in the public eye during her family's show "Duck Dynasty." She has written a few books, one of them being about fear and living without it. She writes many stories of how fear consumed her life and how she was wrapped in chains because her fear was debilitating. Before addressing her fear, though, she talks about something that I would say is even more important than that. She talks about plankton. Not as in Spongebob Squarepants, but rather the tiny creatures in the actual, non-cartoon, ocean.
For instance:
These little things seemingly do nothing at first glance, but really they are the lifeline of the deep dark underwater world. Plankton live at the bottom of the ocean, but not during the night. During the night time, they go to the water's surface, and during the day, they return to their home in the deepest depths.
Enough facts about plankton though, Sadie writes about them for a very particular reason. Plankton have a purpose, an essential one. As I said before, they go to the surface of the water during the night time, and they do this to get light. They get sun, so they offer light to the bottom dwellers when they go back down to the bottom. She talks about this because this plankton, the seemingly unless creatures, offers life to many creatures in the sea.
She says that "If God can breathe purpose into the life of plankton, just image what He can do through you." In times of the unknown, or when you might feel lost in direction, it is nice to know that plankton's purpose is to give life to other creates, so why would God not give you one?
