Christopher Lubinski: Nolan Trail Experience
(Edit, forgot to upload this XD)
That day on the Lion's Bridge and the Nolan trail was very quiet and mystical. The atmosphere that day was very foggy which made the James River, which often the other side of the river was clearly visible, appear as though it was an infinite abyss. Though the abyss seemed to go on forever, when sitting on the bridge I felt as though I was confined as though that abyss seemed to contain me as well. The fog had made my world appear small but made other worlds larger. While sitting on the bridge a spider had crawled close to me on the granite (I have no idea what stone the bridge is made of) column to my left. I was just mesmerized by the spider as it minded its own business. The quiet and still atmosphere seemed to make the world of the spider, a small and irrelevant creature, appear massive and full of life.
There was another pretty incredible encounter while I was on the trail. Often I like to think a lot while I am walking and I was thinking about how cool it would be to see some deer while out in the wilderness for the first time in a while. As luck would have it I hear a noise in the bushes to my right and there were four does foraging in the thicket. It was pretty incredible that I was thinking about deer, then have four deer appear right in front of me out of no where. I believe the whole situation was pure coincidence, but to have such a thing happen is mind blowing.
