Revisiting places with a new perspective

In Landscapes of the Sacred Lane talks about how he had a unique encounter with a bear in a clearing he had been to before. He had walked those hills and seen it all before but this time it was different.

I think it would be very interesting to try going back to some of the places and the trails I have been on before, in order to see if a new outlook can make things different. I have gone on a lot of hikes and trips but I never looked at the wilderness like I have in this class. I think it would be very interesting to see if I put myself in the wilderness and am open to these unique experiences if there is a profound change in how I see things. Ordinary places that are familiar might become something more. Old trails that I know could go from ordinary to extraordinary.

The interaction with the natural world in accordance to Lanes axioms could provide a different experience. Understanding that I cant choose a place and that it must choose, but knowing that they can be found in even the most ordinary of places. Can provide the mindset to notice and appreciate an encounter if or when one occurs.
